🐾 A Day in the Life of My Pug, Trixie – The Notorious, Sleepy Little Diva

If you’ve ever met a pug, you’ll know they’re equal parts cuddle-bugs, chaos queens, and drama stars. But my pug, Trixie, takes it to a whole new level. She’s not just a pet—she’s a full-time job, a spoiled princess, and the soul of our home. Here’s what a typical (and hilarious) day looks like with her!

☀️Late Mornings & Royal Wake-Ups

While the rest of us are halfway through our day, Trixie might decide to open one eye around 11 a.m. No alarms. No plans. Just pure diva energy. And even then, it’s not a proper wake-up—because guess what? She’s probably going back to bed in an hour.

The first thing she does? Marches straight to my mom and grandma for neck scratches like a boss who just clocked in. She doesn’t even bother pretending to be polite about it. She’s not here for small talk—she wants love, scratches, and Horlicks milk.

💤The Art of Sleeping (Like a Pro)

Trixie sleeps around 17 hours a day, which I thought was excessive—until I read that it’s scientifically accurate for pugs. She naps anywhere and everywhere, but her royal throne is the cozy spot right next to my bed. (Obviously. Where else would a queen sleep?)

🎭Attitude, Antics & All That Sass

You’d think a sleepy dog would be chill—but no. Trixie is notorious. She wakes me up at midnight, barking for water, snacks, or a bathroom break like I’m her personal butler. She has no regard for my beauty sleep. But then she’ll flash me her innocent “I’m a baby” face and I melt. Every. Single. Time.

And don’t even get me started on how she acts around strangers—hyperactive dance moves, excited snorts, full-body wiggles. She’s a one-dog welcome committee.

🎮Games, Toys & Mischief

Her idea of fun? Stealing plushies, destroying them like a fluffy Godzilla, and then demanding more. One of our favorite games is hiding her snack and making her find it. Trixie LOVES a treasure hunt (especially when the treasure is chicken).

🍽️Dinner Fit for a Queen

Her meals? Let’s just say she’s not into the basic stuff. Dinner is usually chicken rice or a mix of chicken, pumpkin, and warm milk. She’s definitely a non-veg lover and kinda turns her nose up at veggies. (Same, Trixie, same.)

She eats around 8:30 p.m., and then chills with us in the living room, right in the center of all the attention (of course).

🧸Style, Grooming & Baby Clothes

We bathe her once a week, but that’s just the beginning of her beauty routine. She’s got a whole wardrobe of baby clothes (yes, baby clothes from Trends and Westside!), and she rocks them like a little influencer. She’s the definition of cute but savage.

🚗The Funniest Moment Lately…

Just two days ago, we were getting ready for a trip. I had done my makeup, got dressed—and then I heard her dash off like a leopard. She heard the car engine, ran past everyone, looked back to check if I was following, then LEAPED into the car before anyone else. Meanwhile, I was running after her in full glam, sweating and screaming. She gave zero cares. I was mad, but honestly? That’s just peak Trixie.

🐶 Final Thoughts

Trixie may be out of control, dramatic, clingy, lazy, playful, and a total handful—but she’s also the love of our lives. She’s not just a pet—she’s a whole personality. And honestly, life wouldn’t be half as fun (or chaotic) without her.
